Bison Panel has innumerable applications - Internally it can be used in all places, where an ordinary particle board can be used. For example: Partitions, False Ceilings, Door, wall Claddings, Flooring, Kitchen platforms, Table tops, Stair case, Lockers, Cabinets, Cabins etc.
Partitions:
The excellent qualities of the fire resistance and acoustic insulation apart from natural resistance to weather, fungus, termite and vermin attack, makes the Bison Panel an ideal choice for partitions in residential, commercial, industrial complexes and public buildings.
Bison Panel is ideal material for many types of dry wall partitions including double skin and single skin with steel, aluminium and timber studs, these partitions are light in weight and economical. Steel studs partitions are very light and provide high value of fire resistance and sound insulation.
The basic system can be adopted to achieve up to 4 hours rating by the incorporation of thermal insulation materials by providing various thickness of Bison Panel.
A typical partition wall is constructed by conventional stud and track method which is known to most of carpenters.
False Ceiling:
The False ceiling system adopted for Bison Panel is the usual suspended ceiling system commonly adopted for all other boards. The usual methods adopted for suspension ceiling system will also hold good for the Bison Panel.
The thickness of the Bison Panel for false ceiling can be 6mm or 8mm depending on the requirement of the thermal comfort. The grid formation can be 600x600mm or 610x610mm
When Aluminum sections are used for the grid, the minimum thickness of the section shall be 1.2 mm and size 35mmx35mm
While placing the board in grid, a clearance of 2mm shall be given between the board and the grid on all sides for taking care of thermal expansion.
Wall Cladding:
Bison Panel is best suited for wall cladding. Interior wall cladding is done for decoration purpose or for avoiding dump walls.
Wood reapers or light weight G.I. steel profiles are used for fixing boards on the wall. 12 and 16 mm board is recommended for wall cladding. Fixing is done by screws.
Flooring:
Bison panel is the best choice as an alternative to wooden flooring to suit different climatic conditions- as a thermal insulating floor, as hollow flooring, as floating floors and as mezzanine flooring.
The minimum thickness of the board for flooring shall be 16 mm panel, The supporting rafters are to be spaced at 610mm centre to centre or less. The edges of the boards are to be fully supported and fixed to rafters with screws at 400 mm centre. The joint should be staggered. They can be fixed flush, but a gap of about 10 to 15mm is to be left on the periphery of the floor to allow for expansion. The gaps can be concealed by a skirting plate fixed on the wall 2 or 3mm above the floor.
